Saligao: On a shocking development, the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has directed the Sunburn club at Ozran beach to be de-sealed ahead of their New Year party slated for December 31.
The authority had directed ihe Deputy Collector Mapuisa, Bardez to stop the illegal construction going in property survey no 213/18 of Ozran, Vagator. Bardez. Goa and also to seal the premises.
Based on the order Deputy Collector & SDO Mapusa sealed the said premises on 18/12/2020 and submitted the compliance to this Authority.
But shockingly, the GCZMA issued an order on 29/12/2020 directing the premise ro be de-sealed.
The order says ” this Authority is in receipt of application dated 28 12 2020 from Dennis Shivani, Designated Partner that there are perishable items in the premises and if the same are not removed in time than there are chances that said perishable item will be spoiled,”
GCZMA says it is of the opinion that the request made by the applicant seems to be genuine and in order to safeguard the interest and to stop incurring of losses the premises needs to be de-sealed.
“Therefore, Deputy Collector & SDO Mapusa is hereby directed to de-seal the property on receipt of this order and submit a compliance report within 48 hrs,” it said.
Interestingly, the GCZMA says the premise is de-sealed for losses due to perishable item but this website is in possession of flyers of the New Year Party, which means the owners have lied to GCXMA.
This also exposes the corruption at the top level which has allowed the illegal Sunburn club to re-open at crucial time.
