PONDA: The locals residing near Saint Anne’s Church at Upper Bazaar Ponda expressed concern over the Electricity Department tying a service wire connection of the building to a dry tree branch.
Viraj Sapre, the social worker, said he had informed about the danger to Electricity Department.
“If the two supply wires pass over the road from the electricity pole to the dry tree, if the tree collapses, then the service wire would fall on the road and serve as a trap for the bike rider’s death,” he said.
So before the untoward incident, he asked officials to take action and also warned them to file a police complaint if officials ignored the problem.
