MAPUSA: The 15-year-old girl who was abducted from Mapusa by a young person turned out to be a minor. The boy and girl were taken to a remand home by the police after they were saved from a Calangute hotel.
The abduction occurred on Friday, May 17, at approximately 6:00 p.m. The girl’s mother hurried to the Mapusa police station and filed a missing person’s report as soon as she realized her daughter was missing.
The police investigation found that the victim was in Calangute based on this report. On Saturday morning, she was taken from a Calangute hotel by the police, who also took the young boy into custody.
Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act and Section 363 of the IPC have been invoked in the case against the boy. The boy and the girl were taken to a remand home after fulfilling the required formalities.
In the meantime, the boy and girl were sent by the police to GMC in Bambolim for medical examinations. Following receipt of the test results, additional steps will be taken.
