MARGAO: South Goa witnessed some of the shocking results of mixed ingredients. AAP gained two seats, Whereas the TMC totally failed to materialise its new dawn in Assembly election 2022.
It was exciting in South Goa, especially in Salcete taluka, AAP managed to win two seats; one from Benaulim Venzy Viegas won, defeating TMCs Churchill Alemao, and in Velim AAP’s Cruz Silva won drafting Congress party’s Savio Dsilva.
In Nuvem Alex Sequeira of Congress won defeating Arvind D’costa Independent candidate.
In Margao, BJP suffered a big blow as people gave an injection of rejection to Babu Azgaonkar instead of Digambar Kamat, which BJP leader Smriti Irani suggested in a public meeting.
In Fatorda, too, Goa Forward Party candidate Vijai Sardesai managed to keep his seat intact, defeating BJPs Damodar Naik.
In Curtorim, people stood with Alexio Reginaldo, an independent candidate who defeated Moreno Rebello of the Congress party.
In Navelim Ulhas Tuenkar, BJP candidate won, sending TMC’S Vallaka Alemao home. In Cuncolim, Yuri Alemao of Congress won, defeating BJP’s Clafacio Dias.
Many candidates have also opined that Revolutionary Goans Party has stirred a revolution in the voting pattern in this election.
This party has taken a chunk of vote share, leading to these results.
In Mormugao, which was ruled by BJP earlier, INC’s Sankalp Amonkar won against his bete noire Milind Naik, In Vasco, Daji Salkar defeated Carlos Almeida, in Dabolim Mauvin had to face an unexpected stiff battle from INCs Capt Viriato Fernandes and in Cortalim, it was independent Antonio Vas who defeated Girish Pillai
