CANACONA: Mahakshetra Sri Mallikarjun Sansthan Shristhal Canacona, which shows the existence of Goddess Sri Shankar Parvati, has organized various religious and cultural programs this year in the month of Shravan.
Holy Shravan begins on Monday, the 5th of August 2024. Maharudra is also starting from this day in Sansthan. Maharudra will continue for seven consecutive days by the ritualistic Brahmins and will end on August 11, 2024, stated a press note issued by Shri Mallikarjun Devalaya Committee Chairman Vithoba Desai.
Starting this year there are 5 Shravan Mondays, Dessai in the press release informed, that every Shravan Monday, Mahajan, Kulavi and devotees can perform abhisheka in the temple from 8 am onwards. Mahaprasad will be arranged for Abhishekis, Mahajans, local Devotees and Devotees coming from Karnataka and other distant places. Maha Abhishek will be held every Shravan Monday at 1 PM. Bhajan Kirtan will be held at 6:30 PM and Shree’s Palkhi Utsav will be held at 9:00 PM. Later there will be Mahapuja and Mahaprasad.
The first Monday will be observed on 5th August 2024 by all Mahajanas. At half past six in the evening. The melodious kirtan of Sri Vishwanath Naik, Sindhudurg will be celebrated. He will be accompanied by Ganesh Vetorekar on Tabla and Gajanan Mistry on Samvadini. Shravan will be celebrated on the second Monday, 12th August 2024 through Nagarsekar Mahajana. On this day, well-known singer Gayatri Gaikwad from Gulhane, Maharashtra will come with her partner to perform special bhajans, ghazals and songs.
Shravan III Monday 19th August 2024 will be celebrated by the Bhaireli family Mahajan and Gaitonde families. On this day at 7.30 pm, Bhaktirang Mandal will present a devotional song, bhajan and singing program by Siddhi Shelar and Omkar Chari. He will be supported by Vaibhav Bhagat (Tabla), Nihal Komarpant (Mridang), Sujay Pagi (Manjiri) and Vipul Bhagat on Samvadini. Sagar Pandit will collect the sound.
Shravan will be celebrated on 4th Monday 26th August 2024 by Mokhardkar Vaishnav Samaj. Due to the Yoga of Shri Krishna Jayanti on the same day, the palanquin and Mahapuja will be completed a little early to break up the bhajan program.
The rare fifth Monday of the month of Shravan will be celebrated on 2 September 2024 by the Kholkar (Bhav Poot) family as per tradition.
Apart from this, Suta Punav (Coconut Pournima, Rakshabandhan) will be celebrated on Monday 19th August 2024, Gokulashtami on Saturday 26th August 2024 and “Devachi Navi ” on Friday 30th August 2024 etc.
Temple Committee Chairman Vithoba Desai has appealed that a maximum number of religious and cultural programs will be organized by the temple and all the people should cooperate for the same.-
