VASCO: Vasco Shri Damodar Bhajani Saptah Utsav Committee announced that the annual Shri Damodar Saptah celebration along with Gopalkala, religious rituals will be done in full swing. The devotees and general public has been requested to offer prayers inside Shri Damodar temple only after 2 pm with following Covid19 safety measures like wearing face mask and keeping social distance says Saptah Utsav committee secretary.
After a gap of two years due to the Covid19 pandemic, this year the Vasco Shri Damodar Bhajani Saptah Utsav committee has decided to go full throttle in celebrating the annual Shri Damodar Saptah which will start on August 3 and will conclude on August 4, 2022.
Industrialist Prashant Joshi of Joshi family from Vasco said that there was a gap of two years due to Covid19 pandemic. But this year the Itsav committee decided to celebrate the saptah with great fervor. He further added that this year the saptah committee wrote a letter to the South Goa Collector seeking permission to celebrate Saptah. Later a request letter was addressed to the Chief Minister who in return directed all the government agencies concerned about Saptah celebration. We were given green signal to celebrate Saptah” Joshi added.
He further said that on August 2, Maharudra puja will be performed. Gopalkala and 24×7 Bhajan seva will be done by the devotees. Special arrangements have been made by the Saptah committee this year to broadcast the celebration online so that the devotees all over the world could get an opportunity to witness this celebration. We have also displayed QR code at certain spots so that devotees will be able to give donations directly. We also advice devotees to maintain discipline, wear face masks and keep social distance while taking darshan of Shri Lord Damodar’ Joshi added.
Meanwhile, Santosh Khorjuvekar, Saptah Utsav committee secretary said that on August 2, there will be a program of devotional and classical singing by Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi of Kirana Gharana. He further said that there will be performances of Rushikesh Badve and disciples of Surya Shetye. This year there will be security arrangements to manage the crowd at the temple
