Union Minister for State AYUSH Shripad Y Naik has been administered first dose of plasma therapy and specialists from AIIM, Delhi will arrive to check his condition tomorrow.
As per the press note issued Naik tested positive for Covid19 on 12 August, 2020 in Goa and was shifted to Manipal Hospital for treatment on August 13, after he displayed symptoms.
He is being treated by an expert team of doctors from Goa Medical College and Manipal Hospital and his treatment is being monitored in close coordination with AIIMS, Delhi.
Also a team of specialists from AIIMS, Delhi is arriving in Goa tomorrow, which consists of HoD, Anaesthesiology and HoD, Pulmonary Medicine.
The Minister is on High Flow Nasal Oxygen (HFNO) for maintaining his oxygen saturation level, the release.
“The first dose of convalescent plasma has also been administered to him today, under the supervision of the Transfusion Medicine Specialist who recently joined Goa from AIIMS, New Delhi and he is responding well to the plasma therapy,” the release says.
Today, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant visited Manipal Hospital and personally reviewed the case of Shripad Naik with the treating medical team of experts from Goa Medical College and Manipal Hospital and also interacted with his family members.
