PANAJI: A day after the Expert Committee of Goa Medical College submitted its report asking police to ascertain the manner of death, the family of Siddhi Naik has demanded that a thorough inquiry be conducted in the death case.
The Siddhi Naik’s family has now submitted a letter to DIG and IGP at the police Head Quarters in Panaji demanding a thorough inquiry into her death.
Siddhi’s father, Sandeep Naik, alleged that his daughter had been murdered and police inquiry was not being carried out appropriately.
“We will not allow the matter to be ignored. We demand a thorough investigation,” he asserted while speaking to media persons at Azad Maidan in Panaji.
The family also plans to make a representation to the Chief Secretary and GMC dean regarding the alleged faulty postmortem of the dead body.
19-year-old Siddhi’s body was found under suspicious conditions on Calangute beach on Aug 12.
The family also had written a letter to Calangute Police asking the case to be registered as murder.
