PANAJI: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) State unit accused the opposition of leveling unfounded and unsubstantiated accusations against the government.
BJP State spokesperson Adv Yatish Naik told reporters at the party office in the city at a press conference that the opposition parties’ accusations against the State government were unfounded and untrue. They have no merit and are purely political.
According to Adv. Naik, the re-arrest of land-grabbing suspect Siddique, also known as Suleman Khan, demonstrates the dedication of the Goa police force, the Sawant government, and the home department.
“The re-arrest of Suleman Khan has demonstrated that no criminal will be spared and that appropriate action will be taken against them, so we should congratulate the State government and the police,” he stated.
Adv. Naik denounced the remarks made by the opposition parties against the government and the chief minister following Suleman Khan’s escape from the Crime Branch’s custody, calling them disrespectful.
“We denounce the personal remarks made against Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and spokesperson Giriraj Pai Vernekar by the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Goa Forward Party (GFP).” Politics must have some civility, he remarked.
“If the opposition was serious, then it should have supported the police and asked it to go to the root of the cause and unearth the whole thing completely,” Adv. Naik added, accusing the opposition of failing to help the Goa Police Department when it was needed.
