ANJUNA: A silent protest was organized outside St. Michael’s Church, Anjuna where the Comunidade’s Extraordinary General Body Meeting was taking place.
The protest, led by Dr. Inacio Fernandes, was conducted peacefully, with no shouting or sloganeering.
Dr. Fernandes emphasized that the demonstration was a peaceful exercise of freedom of speech and expression under Article 19 of the Indian Constitution, underscoring the village’s democratic rights.
Anjuna police were present on-site with additional police force to ensure the protest remained orderly. Dr. Fernandes invited any interested individuals to join, reaffirming the community’s right to protest within a free and democratic India.
