Panaji: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant announced that the Single Window Clearance Facilitation Center for obtaining all permissions related to film shooting in Goa will become operational from September 1, 2025.
He said the mechanism will ensure smooth and hassle-free clearances without hurdles at the Panchayat or Municipality level.
The announcement was made at the concluding ceremony of the four-day Goa State Film Festival, which commenced on August 14.
On the occasion, Vice Chairperson of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), Delilah Lobo, informed that the Film Facilitation Portal launched today will also begin operations on September 1.
Veteran actress Varsha Urgaonkar was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the festival.
Sawant further assured Goan filmmakers that the film finance scheme, discontinued earlier due to technical issues, will soon be revised and reintroduced.
As per the proposed structure, financial assistance of ₹50 lakh, ₹30 lakh and ₹10 lakh will be offered for films under categories A, B and C respectively.
The Chief Minister also announced that ESG will take up restoration of Konkani and Marathi films without imposing any financial burden on producers.
Highlighting the reach of Goan cinema, he said its viewership extends far beyond the State’s 15 lakh residents, attracting nearly 2 crore audiences across Karnataka, Maharashtra, and overseas hubs such as Dubai and London.
