Cuncolim: Football Club of Siolim booked their place in the next round of the 1st All Goa Inter Village Mansion House Cup 2025, edging out Guardian Angel S.C. 1–0 in a hard-fought clash on Friday at the Cuncolim Ground. The tournament is being organised by Cuncolim Union.
Guardian Angel began brightly, with Regan Costa missing two early chances in the 15th and 16th minutes, both set up by Adriano Gomes, who looked lively but lacked finishing support.
Siolim slowly grew into the game, testing the rival defense with quick counters. Their persistence paid off in the 42nd minute when Pushparaj Mandrekar capitalised on a defensive lapse, dispossessed the goalkeeper, and calmly slotted home to hand Siolim a slender lead going into halftime.
The second half saw Guardian Angel push hard for the equaliser. Valentino Carvalho’s 51st-minute strike was blocked, while Cruz Gomes forced a fine save just two minutes later. At the opposite end, Mandrekar nearly doubled his tally but fired over the bar.
Despite sustained pressure, Siolim’s backline held firm to secure a narrow yet crucial victory.
The Mansion House Man of the Match was awarded to Mayuresh Naik of Football Club of Siolim for his tireless display. The award was presented by Vineet Kumar Bothra, Sales Manager, Tilaknagar Industries Ltd.
