ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have registered a case against a house owner in Siolim for allegedly failing to report the stay of a Nigerian national to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within the mandatory time frame.
Police said the case was registered on June 30 under Anjuna Police Station Crime No. 98/2025 for offences under Section 7(1) of the Foreigners Act, Section 16 of the Foreigners (Amendment) Order 2016, read with Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
According to the complaint filed by PSI Pandhari Chopdekar of Mapusa Police Station, on June 27, accused Ashok Satchi Kochrekar, owner of House No. 527 at Bhatiwada, Oxel, Siolim, accommodated a Nigerian national, Uche Justine Onuegbu (43), in his rented room.
However, the house owner failed to submit the required online ‘C’ Form to the FRRO in Panaji within 24 hours of accommodating the foreigner, thereby contravening the relevant legal provisions.
The investigation is being conducted by LPSI Leesha Kharbe of Anjuna Police Station.
