Siolim:
Residents of Siolim have urged authorities to install a statue of Lord Parshuram near the village’s newly constructed bridge.
Acting on their request, local MLA Delaila Lobo visited the site to inspect the proposed location for the installation.
During the visit, villagers also raised concerns over coastal security, pointing out that patrolling boats stationed along the Chapora River have been non-functional for several years.
They highlighted that in times of emergency, officials are compelled to borrow boats from local fishermen due to the unavailability of operational coastal patrol vessels, terming it a misuse of public resources.
Residents demanded that the government and coastal police prioritize the repair or replacement of the idle boats, which have been left unused near the Tar River, to ensure readiness for emergencies.
MLA Lobo assured the locals that she would escalate both issues to the relevant authorities for necessary action.
