CANACONA: A Children Park for the kids of Mary Immaculate Pre-Primary School, Agonda is inaugurated on Tuesday.
Agonda Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Patrick Luis blessed the kids playing equipments set-up at the Children Park with paint-decorated Walls in school campus followed by special prayers in the presence of Sisters of Mart Immaculate (SMI) Convent Sr. Superio Sr. Vandana and MI Pre-Primary School Headmistress Sr. Sunian and Agonda Sarpanch Preettal Fernandes Sarpanch.
The inaugural plaque was unveiled also at the hands of Fr. Patrick Luis in the presence of all others to mark the inauguration.
Sarpanch Preettal Fernandes informed considering the need and request, Àgonda Village Panchayat took the initiative of building the children’s park for the benefits of the kids of Pre-Primary School at Sisters of Mary Immaculate convent. ‘only part of expenses to procure some of the playing equipments like Merry-Go-Round, Seesaw and a Slider is met from the eligible panchayat funds, while rest of the expenses is borne by panch members.’
According to sources, rest of the expenses for including construction of floor and compound, besides painting of walls and cartoon pictures are borne from the contributions including salary of six of the 7 panch members at total costs of over 1.5 lakhs of rupees.
V P Agonda Dy. Sarpanch Canisha Fernandes, Panch members Karuna Phaldessai, John Fernandes and Nilesh Pagi, besides Agonda BMC member Vinod Phaldessai, and other villagers were present.
