OLD GOA: Old Goa Police have busted an online gambling racket and arrested six persons who were allegedly conducting betting activities through the website “Win0042”. Acting on a complaint lodged by PSI Sanket Pokhare, police raided a villa at Gera River of Joy, Kadamba Plateau, on September 30 around 6.30 pm, where the accused were caught red-handed using multiple laptops and mobile phones registered under different names to carry out illegal online betting and identity theft. The arrested accused have been identified as Aman Panjawani (20) of Raipur, Chhattisgarh; Sundarlal Patel (27) of Korba, Chhattisgarh; Rohan Karsh (22) of Korba, Chhattisgarh; Naveen Jituri (30) of Hubli Dharwad, Karnataka; Jay Yadav (20) of Bemetara, Chhattisgarh; and Akash Rathod (25) of Korba, Chhattisgarh. Police seized four laptops, 13 mobile phones, a router, and a notebook with pen, all valued at around ₹2.3 lakh, from the premises. A case has been registered under Section 66-C of the Information Technology Act and Sections 3 and 4 of the Goa Public Gambling Act. Further investigation is in progress.
