Team Goemkarponn
PANAJI: Six players from Goa have been selected for the Indian team participating in the Amazing Thailand-Pattaya BWF World Senior Championships 2025, running from September 7 to 14.
The Goan representatives in the squad are Sandhya Melasheemi, Leena Pednekar Dhapre, Pradeep Dhond, Tanaji Sawant, Dr. Satish Kudchadkar, and Vijaya Laxmi Gudipudi. Praveen Shenoy, Secretary of the Goa Badminton Association, has been appointed as the Manager of the Indian contingent.
Speaking about the team’s participation, Shenoy said, “It is encouraging to see several players from Goa feature in the Indian squad for the World Senior (Masters) Championships. Their selection reflects the immense hard work they have put in to maintain their game and fitness to reach both national and international levels. As Manager, I look forward to supporting the team as we take on strong competition in Pattaya.”
The championships provide a platform for senior players to showcase their skills on the international stage, and the Indian contingent is currently in action against tough global opponents.
