Panaji: Panjim MLA Babush Monseratte today said that there is no requirement of so many technical cells in the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd as the SPV can work under the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation as far as contracts are concerned.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the Chief Minister, Monseratte said that the Chief Minister will hold a meeting to streamline the projects on November 18.
“All the projects need to be rethought. I have always said there is no need of CCTV cameras by spending Rs 180 cr. It is not the priority,” he said.
He said the roads are bad the other infrastructure is crumbling.
“Do we need CCTVs to see people falling in the potholes?” he asked.
He said the roads are really bad and the PWD Minister has assured that all roads will be repaired by January.
Stating that the St Inez Nullah and Panjim market besides many other projects are priority Monseratte said that the IPSCDL has to rethink on priorities.
“Also, there is no need of so many technical cells in IPSCDL. It can work under GSIDC for tendering and contracts,” he said.
