PANAJI: The State government has informed the High Court of Bombay at Goa that all roads taken up under the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) initiative are complete and accessible to the public, with only beautification works currently in progress.
During a hearing on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), Advocate General Devidas Pangam told the Division Bench that landscaping and other aesthetic enhancements are ongoing and expected to be finished by the revised deadline of June 30.
“All roads are now open to the public. Only beautification works remain and will be completed within the given timeframe,” Pangam said. The Court has adjourned the matter to July 15.
Previously, IPSCDL had committed to completing all pending infrastructure, including footpaths and landscaping, by June 2025.
This extension was granted by the Court in June 2024.
Interestingly, IPSCDL, which earlier denied responsibility for Atmaram Borkar Road, 18th June Road, and Dr Pandurang Pissurlekar Road, has now reportedly taken up repair work on these stretches.
The former CEO, Sanjit Rodrigues, had stated these roads did not fall under the Smart City Mission.
