PANAJI: Snow’s Football Academy (FA) from Raia delivered a commanding performance to clinch the U-17 State Championship title, defeating United Sports Club (USC) of Seraulim 7-0 in the finals of the Goa Football Association tournament held at the Raia Panchayat Ground on Thursday.
Snow’s FA took control from the outset, showcasing dominant play and leading 2-0 at halftime. The Colaco trio led the charge, with Wayne and Samuel Colaco netting hat-tricks, while Shaun Colaco added a goal to the tally.
Despite a slow start that saw a couple of early misses by Messi Rebello in the 6th and 8th minutes, Snow’s FA settled into rhythm soon after. USC Seraulim’s only notable attempt came from Soham Fernandes in the first half, which failed to find the net. Their goalkeeper, Mohit Tete, was a bright spot, making at least three crucial saves to keep the scoreline in check during the early stages.
Wayne Colaco opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a precise header, followed by Samuel Colaco’s strike in the 27th to double the lead. The second half saw Snow’s FA in complete control. Wayne added his second goal in the 47th minute before Samuel netted twice in quick succession to complete his hat-trick. In injury time, Wayne scored his third, sealing a memorable hat-trick and a resounding victory.
With this win, Snow’s FA completed an unbeaten run through the tournament, emerging as deserving U-17 state champions.
