SOCCORO: Due to ongoing work for laying underground electricity cables, the road stretch from Socorro Church junction to Ambirna Ashram has been closed to four-wheelers and other heavy vehicles.
Motorists who typically use this route for their journey between Mapusa and Panaji are being advised to use the NH-66 road or the new Bypass road as alternatives to avoid delays.
In addition, traffic intending to move towards Porvorim from Socorro Church junction has been diverted via Salvador do Mundo road. Authorities are urging commuters to plan their routes accordingly and follow all detour signs to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience.
The closure is part of infrastructure development aimed at improving the electricity supply in the region. Motorists are advised to be patient and cooperate with the traffic diversions as the work progresses.
