PONDA: MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar today condemned the misuse of Bhausaheb Bandodkar’s statements on Goa’s merger with Maharashtra for political gain, terming them “rumors”.
“Bhau Saheb statements on merger are now misused by some for their for political benefits. They are rumors and we condemn that. That time situation was different,” said Dhavalikar
He further said that Bhausaheb Bandodkar history have not reached to new generation in detail.
“New generation don’t know how this one person tried to take state ahead in those all difficulties of those days. I also urge govt to complete Miramar samadhi work before death anniversary,” he added
He emphasized that Bandodkar’s context was different back then and that his legacy is not fully known to the younger generation.
“There was immense pressure on Bandodkar. When Opinion Poll was conducted Bhausaheb internally supported Dr Jack Sequeira’s movement on Opinion Poll”. Dhavalikar questioned Sardesai’s knowledge of Bhausaheb and his apparent “allergy” to MGP.
