One thing is for sure after the Haryana election results, the guy Rahul Gandhi just refuses to learn from his mistakes or is simply outsmarted by the BJP everytime he thinks he is winning.
Be it Madhya Pradesh elections, Haryana or Rajasthan, the Congress had started celebrating even before the elections were over and the result – another failure on their face.
The electoral defeat of the Congress party in Haryana has once again highlighted the issue of arrogance within the party’s leadership. The unexpected loss to the BJP has raised questions about the party’s decision-making and its failure to form crucial alliances.
The Congress, which was expected to emerge victorious in Haryana, faced a significant setback as it secured only 37 seats compared to the BJP’s 48. The refusal to form an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been cited as a key factor contributing to this defeat. The arrogance displayed by the Congress leaders in not considering potential alliances with other parties has been heavily criticized.
The editorial in Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece, Saamana, has emphasized the need for the Congress to redirect its focus to grassroots-level politics. It pointed out the BJP’s strong organization and strategic approach as key elements that contributed to their success in the elections.
This serves as a wake-up call for the Congress to reevaluate its strategies and adopt a more inclusive approach to political alliances and campaigning.
The criticism from Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool and the failure to accommodate parties like the Samajwadi Party and AAP reflect the overconfidence and internal disarray within the Congress. The lack of unity and failure to embrace new leadership have proven to be detrimental to the party’s electoral prospects.
The repeated reliance on traditional leaders like Kamal Nath and Bhupesh Baghel, while disregarding the potential of the younger generation of leaders, has backfired for the Congress. This failure to recognize and promote fresh talent within the party has led to internal disarray and weakened its position in the elections.
The dissatisfaction expressed by Lok Sabha MP Kumari Selja over candidate selection further highlights the internal rifts within the Congress.
The perception that most candidates were loyal to a specific leader instead of the party has raised concerns about the party’s decision-making process and the lack of cohesion within its ranks.
Looking ahead to the Maharashtra elections, it is imperative for the Congress to heed the advice provided by various quarters and reassess its approach. Emphasizing a strong organizational structure and embracing new leadership while fostering unity within the party will be crucial for the Congress to regain its political footing.
While defeat in Haryana serves as a stark reminder for the Congress to shed its arrogance, Congress needs to forge meaningful alliances, and prioritize the development of grassroots politics. The party must learn from its mistakes and embrace a more inclusive and collaborative approach to strengthen its position in future elections.
The most important issue is Rahul Gandhi needs to change his mindset and more importantly his advisers.
