PORVORIM: Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral today clarified that temples and churches in the state will not be covered under the law prohibiting loud music after 10 pm.
“Temples and churches in the state will not be covered under the law prohibiting loud music after 10 pm,” said Cabral.
He further said that every hall must place sound monitoring metres in their periphery.
“I request people to book only such halls from 10th January onwards that place sound monitoring metres,” he added.
Cabral also requested owners of the halls meet me to discuss the implementation of noise pollution rules.
CM Sawant also clarified that the Noise Pollution Act would not affect temples and churches in the state.
“The environment minister (Nilesh Cabral) has already made it clear that temples and churches will not be affected by the Act related to noise pollution,” the chief minister said after the cabinet meeting.
