MARGAO: In a move to curb illegal bullfight activities in South Goa, a coordination meeting was chaired by District Magistrate Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, and co-chaired by Superintendent of Police (South) Shri Santosh Desai. Additional Collector-I Shri Srinet Kothwale was also present at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by the SDM of Salcete, Police Inspectors and Mamlatdars of Salcete taluka, and focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination to prevent unlawful bullfight events.
During the meeting, directions were issued to concerned Police Inspectors to initiate action against landowners where such bullfights are being organized. Mamlatdars were instructed to furnish necessary details and prepare an inventory of landowners to support enforcement measures.
Authorities also discussed preparedness for any emergency or law and order situation arising from such incidents. Mamlatdars were advised to immediately contact the emergency helpline 112 to ensure prompt police response and safeguard public safety.
