MARGAO: A review meeting on the saturation of Financial Inclusion (FI) schemes at Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in South Goa was chaired by Additional Collector-II Ramesh N. Gaonkar, along with Deputy Collector and District Recovery Officer, Avelina Dsa E. Pereira. The Lead Bank Manager informed that the campaign was scheduled across 89 panchayats in the district, of which 77 camps have already been completed, while the remaining 12 will be held next week as per schedule. The meeting also reviewed progress made under various schemes in South Goa.
Issuing directions to ensure smooth implementation, the Chairperson instructed all banks to complete their Re-KYC targets without delay and to share lists of beneficiaries with the respective BDOs. Block Development Officers were told to create awareness among locals and mobilise beneficiaries through Panchayat Secretaries, while all banks operating in each locality, along with the nodal bank, were directed to participate actively in the campaign. Further, BDOs of South Goa were asked to submit campaign reports via the provided online link in the prescribed format.
