Panaji: In a significant development during the ongoing monsoon session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar has allowed a series of key questions pertaining to the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department to be taken up, despite earlier objections raised by TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane. The Minister had previously refused to answer these questions citing that the matters were sub judice.
However, the Speaker’s decision has now paved the way for both starred and unstarred Legislative Assembly Questions (LAQs) to be answered, some during the current session and others in the next. Postponed LAQ No. 1C, along with Starred Questions 2A, 3B, 20B, and 20C, has been scheduled for response on August 7, 2025. Additionally, Unstarred Questions 38, 57, 62, 94, 96, 127, and 134 will also be addressed on the same day.
Starred Question 3A has been deferred to the next session of the Assembly, while Unstarred LAQ 152 has been transferred to the Industries Department, indicating a jurisdictional shift in the subject matter.
