CANACONA: Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing developmental works in the Canacona constituency, with a special focus on the under-construction Municipal Administrative-Cum-Commercial building and the upcoming Fish Market project at Chaudi.
During a review meeting held at the Government Rest House in Shristhal, Tawadkar assessed the progress of infrastructure works nearing completion. He noted that the main municipal building structure, along with furniture installation and electrical works, was in its final stages. The meeting included officials from the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA), Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA), and representatives from the Canacona Municipal Council (CMC).
DMA Director Brijesh Manerikar, GSUDA official Munna Muzzawar, project consultant Datte Kare, and the building contractor joined Tawadkar for a site inspection of the municipal building, the new fish market site, and the vegetable market. The Speaker also offered suggestions to improve the infrastructure and ensure the facilities meet the needs of local residents.
CMC Chairperson Sara Shamba Naik Desai, Vice Chairperson Gandesh Madgavkar, and councilors Ramakant Naikgaunkar, Simon Rebello, Laxuman Pagui, Hemantkumar Naikgaunkar, Narcisco (Nadin) Fernandes, Neetu S. Desai, Dhiraj (Pandurang) Naikgaunkar, and Amita Pagi were present during the inspection. Personal Secretary to the Speaker, Sidharth Desai, and former BJP Canacona Mandal President Vishal Desai also participated in the review and discussions.
