PANAJI: Amid growing speculation about a possible cabinet reshuffle, BJP leaders on Monday clarified that their recent meetings with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant were not linked to any such move.
BJP MLA Nilesh Cabral, who was seen at the CM’s residence, said his visit was purely to discuss constituency-related work.
“It was a coincidence that the BJP state president was also present there. Any decision on cabinet reshuffle lies solely with the Chief Minister,” he clarified.
Similarly, senior BJP MLA Digambar Kamat stressed that only the Chief Minister would comment on the matter.
“The only person who will speak about the cabinet reshuffle is CM Pramod Sawant. I met him regarding constituency issues,” Kamat said.
BJP State President Damu Naik, who also called on the Chief Minister at his official bungalow in Altinho, maintained that his discussions with Sawant were limited to party affairs.
“The meeting had nothing to do with a cabinet reshuffle,” Naik stated.
Meanwhile, party leaders have maintained that no such decision has been taken yet.
