VASCO: In a late-night incident, a Swift taxi car reportedly lost control and ramped into shops, damaging several bikes in Vasco on Thursday nights.
Sources said that the incident occurred at around 11 pm on an internal road in Vasco opposite the St Andrews church.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in the incidents since shops in the usually packed area had closed down.
The driver of the Swift Car involved in the accident is reportedly said to have lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the collision.
Several bikes, shop shutters and other structures were damaged in the accident as the car rammed through the area at high speed before coming to a halt.
Vasco police rushed to the site and are investigating the cause of the accident while the damaged shops and bikes are being assessed for the extent of the damage. Efforts are underway to clear the area and ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists.
Vasco police have registered a case of accidents and are carrying out further investigation.
