Curtorim: Hosts Sporting Club Virabhat cruised into the semifinals of the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025 Inter-Ward Football Tournament with a commanding 4-0 victory over Unjirim United at the St. Alex Church Ground, Curtorim.
The home side drew first blood in the 9th minute, when Lourdes Fernandes calmly slotted in the opener to give SC Virabhat a 1-0 lead. Unjirim United nearly equalized midway through the first half, but Floy Luis was unlucky as his powerful shot struck the post and went out of play. SC Virabhat maintained their slender lead going into the break.
The second half saw a flurry of goals from the hosts. Floydon Fernandes doubled the lead in the 35th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse. Soon after, Vivon Fernandes took center stage with a brilliant brace, scoring in the 40th and 45th minutes to seal a dominant 4-0 win for SC Virabhat.
For his outstanding performance, Vivon Fernandes was adjudged Man of the Match, with the award presented by Camilo Castanha, a member of Sporting Club Virabhat.
With this emphatic win, SC Virabhat advances to the semifinals and continues their strong run in the tournament.
