Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday assured the Goa Legislative Assembly that all pending financial dues to sports associations — which have submitted utilisation certificates — will be cleared within the next two months, by October.
The assurance came after GFP MLA Vijai Sardesai flagged the issue of delayed disbursal of grants, stating that ₹11.51 crore is pending towards the Goa Football Association (GFA) and ₹60 lakh towards the Goa Badminton Association.
Responding, CM Sawant said, “The delay is primarily due to non-submission of utilisation certificates by some associations. Those who have submitted UCs will get their payments before October.”
He also announced that the government will set up Khelo India Centres in all 12 talukas. “Two centres have already been established, and work in the remaining talukas will begin in the current financial year,” he said.
Additionally, the CM urged all sports associations to identify grounds for their respective State Sport, assuring that the government would provide full support for infrastructure development.
