DELHI: In a significant development for Aam Aadmi Party’s Goa unit, Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) co-founder Srikrishna Parab officially joined AAP in the presence of Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi, Pankaj Gupta, and Amit Palekar at the party headquarters.
Parab has been appointed General Secretary (Organisation) for AAP Goa, signaling the party’s strategic push to build a robust grassroots presence ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
Atishi hailed Parab as a dynamic grassroots leader and noted that his inclusion reflects AAP’s national appeal across languages and regions. Citing Parab’s activism on Goa’s land and identity issues, she said, “His commitment to clean politics and people-centric development aligns perfectly with AAP’s core values.”
Parab, who contested from Mayem in 2022 and secured a notable vote share, said he joined AAP because Goa needs a platform with national reach to address deep-rooted issues. “The BJP’s governance has collapsed—ministers themselves admit bribes are routine. AAP offers both credibility and capacity to deliver real change,” he stated.
Amit Palekar, AAP Goa President, criticized the ruling BJP for deepening corruption and failing to address unemployment, saying the youth are forced to migrate due to lack of opportunities.
He announced “Mission 2027”, under which AAP will contest all 40 seats with a focus on clean governance, jobs, healthcare, and education.
Pankaj Gupta, AAP National Secretary and Goa Prabhari, said Parab’s entry will inspire more young leaders to join. “Goans are angry over land grabs and joblessness. AAP’s MLAs have shown what transparent, accountable governance looks like. Now, we are building a team that can deliver that across the state.”
