VASCO: St. Andrew’s School ICSE/ISC has successfully reached the West Zone Finals of the prestigious All India Inter School Robotics Championship 2024. The competition, organized by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), in collaboration with the Indian Habitat Forum and the Technological Innovation Hub of IIT New Delhi, brings together top schools to showcase their robotics and innovation skills.
The West Zone Finals will be held on 28th October 2024 in Mumbai, where St. Andrew’s will face schools from Gujarat and Maharashtra. The event is a crucial step toward the National Finals, scheduled for 12th November 2024 at the Centre of Excellence (COE), CISCE in Hyderabad.
This achievement comes after St. Andrew’s ICSE introduced Robotics and Artificial Intelligence into its curriculum this academic year, offering students from Class IX and above an opportunity to explore these cutting-edge fields. The initiative has sparked enthusiasm across the student body, fostering skills in teamwork, logical thinking, coding, and problem-solving – all vital for future technology careers.
The competing team from St. Andrew’s consists of Michelle Pereira, Mayank Redkar, and Ahyan Shaikh, all from Class IX. They will be accompanied by their mentor and Robotics & AI teacher, Raymond Santimano, along with Lab Assistant Deepesh Kaulekar, as they depart for Mumbai on 27th October.
The school community extends its best wishes to the team as they prepare for the competition, with high hopes for a successful journey to the National Finals.
