PANAJI: In an exciting opener of the 14th Our Lady of Fatima Cup 2025, organized by Dicarpale Sports Club at the Dicarpale Ground, St. Anthony Assolda staged a thrilling comeback to defeat USC Seraulim 3-2 and advance to the quarterfinals.
USC Seraulim struck first, with Floscio Fernandes scoring a neat goal in the 4th minute. Fhezer Gomes equalized for Assolda in the 12th minute, before Ashley Fernandes gave Seraulim a 2-1 lead with a powerful free-kick in the 15th minute, leaving goalkeeper Oswin with no chance. The score remained 2-1 at halftime.
After the break, St. Anthony Assolda took charge of the game. Fhezer Gomes scored again in the 43rd minute to level the match, and the decisive goal came from Regan Costa in the 57th minute, sealing a memorable comeback and securing Assolda’s spot in the quarterfinals.
