Panaji: The Department of BBA (Travel and Tourism) at St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, hosted its national-level event “X’plorateur 2025” on September 26 and 27 to mark World Tourism Day. Centred around the UNWTO theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation” and the college’s own vision “A Regenerative Vision for Goa,” the two-day event aimed to inspire students to reimagine tourism in ways that preserve and rejuvenate Goa’s cultural and natural heritage.
The inaugural ceremony featured college dignitaries and Chief Guest Pifran Fernandes, Owner of Tree House Goa. The opening programme included vibrant cultural performances, the launch of a thematic magazine, and thought-provoking speeches highlighting the role of regenerative tourism in building a sustainable future for the state.
Participants from institutions across Goa and Karnataka took part in a range of activities designed to test creativity, knowledge, and teamwork. Events included quizzes, debates, eco-painting, stress management challenges, business pitch presentations, case study competitions, and a fashion show inspired by the concept of regenerative tourism. Each round encouraged innovative approaches to sustainability and responsible travel practices.
The competition concluded with Team Desert Dynamos from KLE College of Business Administration, Hubli, Karnataka, clinching the title of Overall Champions. Team Moonlight Mavericks from Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Goa, finished as Runners-up after a spirited performance.
Through X’plorateur 2025, St. Xavier’s College once again underscored its commitment to shaping environmentally conscious tourism leaders. The event not only celebrated creativity and collaboration but also strengthened the call for a tourism model that restores, rather than merely sustains, Goa’s identity and ecological balance.
