BAMBOLIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane confirmed that three out of five critically injured patients from the tragic stampede incident at Shirgao Lairai Zatra are showing signs of improvement.
The remaining two continue to be in a critical but stable condition at Goa Medical College (GMC).
Rane visited the victims at GMC and personally reviewed their condition.
“Utmost care is being taken in their treatment,” he said, adding that Code Red Goa, the hospital’s emergency response protocol, has been activated to manage the situation.
Under Code Red, senior doctors and clinical heads led by the Dean of GMC are working together to ensure immediate and coordinated medical decisions for critically ill patients.
“I will continue to personally monitor their progress to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained,” Rane said.
The incident at the Lairai Zatra festival shocked the state, prompting swift medical and administrative action as efforts continue to stabilize all the injured.
