PANAJI: The State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025 witnessed thrilling action at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, Panaji, as Advait Balakrishnan–Vansh Khedkar and Aarush Pawaskar–Owais Tahasildar stormed into the Boys U17 doubles final. Fourth-seeded Advait and Vansh defeated Harsh Mulik–Sudhanva Udupa 21-18, 21-8, while Aarush and Owais edged past Karthikeyan N–Shane D’Souza in a nail-biting three-set match, 21-19, 18-21, 21-18.
Organised by the Panjim Badminton Club and Panaji Ganeshotsav Samiti, in collaboration with the North Goa District Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, under the aegis of the Goa Badminton Association, the tournament also featured intense contests in other categories.
In Boys Doubles U15, third seeds Arnav Saraf–Sparsh Kolwalkar defeated Linesh Virnodkar–Mohammed Umar Shaikh 21-11, 21-18, while Atharv Sadaye–Shaan Cherkala Kunjutty staged a comeback to beat second seeds Aanav Kolvalkar–Prajesh Gawas 15-21, 21-13, 21-19. In Girls Doubles U15, Avni Khyalia–Palak Ramnathkar overcame Niharika Baljit–Sambhavi Bhardwaj 21-15, 21-13, and Aaryaa Metry–Anaya Kamat beat second seeds Deepun S–Komal Kothari 21-11, 21-3.
In Mixed Doubles U15, Arnav Saraf–Niharika Parwar defeated Linesh–Anaya 21-10, 16-21, 21-17, while Sparsh Kolwalkar–Aaryaa Metry stunned second seeds Ateendra Gaonkar–Palak Ramnathkar 15-21, 21-4, 21-14.
In the Girls Doubles U17 final, Dimple Revankar–Ritika Chelluri will face the winners of other semifinals after defeating Aakanksha Rana–Gauravi Bodekar 21-4, 21-6. In Mixed Doubles U17, Vansh Khedkar–Sufiya Shaikh overpowered second seeds Arnav Ramnathkar–Nidhi Nair 21-5, 21-5, and will meet Advait Balakrishnan–Ritika Chelluri, who beat Shane D’Souza–Saanvi Audi 21-10, 21-18, in the finals.
The tournament has showcased intense competition across age groups, highlighting emerging talent in Goa’s badminton circuit.
