Panaji: The Goa Congress unit has laid its focus on strengthening party’s organization setup across all 40 assembly constituencies with an aim to battle out BJP in the 2022 general elections to State Legislative Assembly.
In a press conference held today, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat said that party is currently working to make its base strong.
“We are going through a difficult phase. The party has presence in all 40 assembly constituencies, which has to be further strengthened,” Kamat said in presence of its president Girish Chodankar.
Kamat said that even though some MLAs have defected, the party’s vote base has remained intact.
Kamat maintained that the party has always respected peoples sentiments and worked for the Common Man and gave people friendly governance in Goa.
“People of Goa have now realized the difference between the Congress regime and the self centered BJP regime and hence people all across the State are once again joining the Congress Party,” he claimed.
A film producer Uday Salelkar from Tivim Constituency along with hundreds of his supporters and fans joined party today.
GPCC President Girish Chodankar welcomed the new members in the party and expressed confidence that more and more people will join the party in the coming days. He said people are fed up with BJP government and its policies.
