PANAJI: Minister Milind Naik said that the state governemnt is planning to reconstruct a new building for old age home at Chimbel
“The Demonstration Housing Project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) is one of the component which will provide emerging technology in construction sector. As per the Guidelines the only requirements is to provide land by the State Government,”said Naik
He said that the IPA had identified land admeasuring 2000 sq.mtr, for construction of Demonstration Housing Project at Chimbel.
He added, “The matter was placed before the State level Monitoring and Sanctioning Committee (SLSMC) of PMAY(U) and the proposal was submitted to GOI for approval. The project was approved by MoHUA (GOI) and this will be 100% funded by GOI,”
Naik also informed that the building Materials and Technology promotion Council (BMTPC) of Ministry of Urban and Housing Affairs is the implementing agency for Demonstration Housing Project (G+1) for old age home at Chimbel, Goa. The work has been tendered by BMTPC and awarded to M/s Stepup Construction, Jabalpur.
“The proposed technology is to use light gauge steel Framed structure with precast concrete panels on both sides of wall and light weight concrete as infill. Total built up area of the project is 1954.2 sqmts. The Total units proposed are 15 rooms of different sizes and 15 rooms for other provisions. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs. 599.42 lakhs,” he said
Meanwhile, the state governemnt is the process of obtaining statutory approvals is ongoing and work will be started thereafter.
