PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today, since there was little marginal utility for continuing the scheme and it involves substantial financial outlay, the traffic Sentinel Scheme was discontinued.
“Since there was little marginal utility for continuing the scheme and it involves substantial financial outlay, the traffic Sentinel Scheme was discontinued,” said CM Sawant
He further said that a total of 8,055 Traffic Sentinels were registered under the Traffic Sentinel Scheme.
“Total cash reward due for payment to Traffic Sentinels is `21,82,000/- and the process for payment is underway,” he added.
CM further said that a total of 1675 vigilance cases are pending with the Department of Vigilance.
“1675 vigilance cases are pending with the Department of Vigilance of which 1214 are pending with complaint section, 238 are pending with technical section, and 223 are pending with ACB,” CM informed the house.
