Panaji: Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar on Wednesday said that the government has undertaken a comprehensive upgrade of power stations that are currently in poor condition. He assured that the issue of power interruptions—occurring due to various reasons—is being actively addressed across the state.
Speaking on ongoing roadwork, the minister clarified that the roads being dug up for underground cabling is not a development limited to the Savoirem area. “This is a statewide initiative aimed at strengthening the electricity distribution system and ensuring long-term reliability of power supply,” he said.
The minister’s statement comes amid public complaints over frequent outages and the inconvenience caused by dug-up roads. Dhavalikar urged citizens to cooperate with the authorities as the work is part of essential infrastructure improvement.
