PANAJI: Women and Child Development Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that his department is contemplating modernising anganwadis in the state over five years.
Rane also informed that his department, in consultation with Chief Minister, is looking to enhance rates in terms of rent.
“Already, GSIDC has been constructing 18 Anganwadi, and we will try to replicate the same across Goa in a period of five years. We have seen that some of the anganwadis are in bad shape, and we have already shifted some of them. We are not being able to find any place due to less rent,” said Rane.
He further said that his department, in consultation with Chief Minister, is looking to enhance rates in terms of rent.
“It is seen that many people are not giving us spaces for rent as the rent per month allotted is very less. The funds are allotted directly from the central government; as I have already told you that I will be taking up this issue with the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
