PANAJI: Seven Anganwadi workers on hunger strike at Azad Maidan, Panaji, for the past 21 days have given an ultimatum to the government today.
The workers have warned that they will give up consuming water if they are not taken into service by this evening.
CM Pramod Sawant had said that the striking workers will be taken back into service on the condition that they give in writing that they will not participate in any politically motivated strikes.
The workers had written that they are not affiliated with any party, nor are their strikes backed by any political party.
However, they have refused to give a written statement that they will not resort to any strike, asserting that it is their right as a citizen to protest against any injustice meted out to them.
The workers are on 42 nd day of strike and the 21st day of indefinite hunger strike.
