PANAJI: The Directorate of Education (DoE) today said that students from 150 schools will attend the National Games Goa Inauguration Ceremony at Fatorda Stadium on October 26.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Games at 4.30 pm. The heads of government, government-aided and unaided secondary and higher secondary schools have been directed to register and depute 30 students along with two teachers to attend the inauguration. Women teachers should accompany the girl students.
The students have to report to the venue by 4 pm. Students should carry their school identity cards and teachers should carry their identity proof to the venue. Balrath buses may be utilised for the purpose.
The National Games in Goa will be the largest multi-sport event to be held in the State. It will feature 10,806 odd athletes who will compete in 43 events across 28 locations.
The schools having Balrath school buses have been asked to utilise the same for transportation of the students.
A press release issued by director of education Shailesh Zingade states that the particular event would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The 37th National Games will be held from October 25 to November 9. The inauguration ceremony will be held on October 26 at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, at 4.30 p.m.
