PANJIM: The state government has announced that the Sub District Hospital, Ponda will be converted into a full fledged Covid Hospital.
Goa now has two Covid hospitals with first being ESI hospital at Margao. State currently has 200-bedded ESI hospital in Margao, which is converted into covid facility, where positive patients are treated.
“To ensure that best of healthcare facilities are made available for the people in the state and to further strengthen our fight against coronavirus pandemic, the Sub District Hospital at Ponda is being converted into a full fledged #COVID19 Hospital.” CM Sawant tweetedHe said, “This would be the second dedicated COVID 19 Hospital in Goa, in addition to ESI hospital Margao.”
Meanwhile, Antigen testing facility was made available at district hospitals in North and South Goa and sub-district hospitals of Chicalim and Ponda.
