ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have detained 5 Karnataka native on charges of assault and murder.
According to Police, the said 5 accused who were occupants of a Tata Sumo bearing number KA O1 P 7326 assualted a local by slapping him which inturn caused injuries.
The incident happened near Anjuna 11 Restaurant, near Anjuna Beach, Anjuna, Bardez Goa and the motive was a sudden quarrel.
The slapping caused the victim injuries and he later succumbed to the injuries on the way to St. Anthony Hospital, Anjuna
The police have lodged a case of murder.
In this connection registered Anjuna PS Cr. No 135/2021 U/s 302 r/w 34 IPC.
Team of Anjuna Police Station led by PI Suraj Gawas took swift action and all five male persons i.e. occupants of Tata Sumo jeep bearing no. KA 01-P-7326 detained at Border check post Pollem, Canacona with the help of Canacona Police.
Further investigation is in progress with Shri. Suraj H. Gawas, Police Inspector, Anjuna Police Station under the supervision of SP North and SDPO Mapusa.
