For Dy Chief Minister and MGP’s Madkai MLA Sudin Dhavalikar has become the latest politician to have tested positive for COVID19.
“I have tested positive for COVID19 just now. As advised by the doctors I am getting admitted now. I request everyone, who had contact with me in last few days to isolate themselves and get tested,” Dhavalikar said on his social media account.
Earlier in the day Thivim MLA Nilkanth Halarnkar had also tested positive for COVID19.
Union Minister Shripad Naik, who underwent plasma therapy on Monday, is stable and responding well to the treatment. A government press release issued on Tuesday evening informed that Naik has responded well to the plasma therapy.
“The two experts from AIIMS, Delhi who arrived today (Tuesday) in Goa reviewed the treatment protocol and expressed satisfaction with the timely medical intervention. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant visited Manipal Hospital again today to review the condition of the Union Minister and interacted with the expert team from AIIMS, Delhi and the treating doctors from Goa Medical College and Manipal,” reads the press statement.
Naik had tested positive for COVID-19 on August 12 and was shifted to Manipal Hospital for treatment on August 13, after he developed symptoms.
