MORMUGAO: Goa State BJP Mahila Morcha Prabhari Sulakshana Sawant, wife of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, expressed confidence in the victory of MLA Sankalp Amonkar in the upcoming 2027 assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters during the grand Women’s Day celebration organized by the Murgao BJP Mahila Morcha on Sunday evening, Sawant said, “Our slogan of 27 seats in the 2027 assembly elections will definitely see Sankalp Amonkar as the MLA. This is evident from the tremendous support of the thousands of women present here today.”
Sawant highlighted the significance of the event beyond celebrations, stating, “While Women’s Day celebrations are being organized by MLA Sankalp Amonkar, the bigger motive is creating awareness about various initiatives and schemes for women and ensuring they benefit from them.”
Commending Amonkar’s efforts, she noted, “Amonkar has taken up vital projects like water tanks and setting up a hospital in the area—both crucial for women. He and his wife, Shraddha, have always been deeply concerned about women’s welfare and have consistently organized such programs.” added Sawant
The event witnessed large-scale participation, with thousands of women joining in the celebrations at Sada. Several programs were organized, and distinguished women from various fields were felicitated by Sulakshana Sawant and MLA Sankalp Amonkar.
