PANAJI: Suleiman Siddiqui’s wife Afsana alias Sarika Khan has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with the land grab case at Mapusa.
She is also co-accused in the Siddiqui escape case registered by Old Goa police.
Ernakulam police arrested Suleiman alias Siddiqui Khan and his wife Sarika Khan based on a tip off from Goa Police, informed DGP Goa Alok Kumar.
A total of 14 teams with more than 70 police personnel of Crime Branch, SIT, Cyber Cell and North Goa district and Crime Branch HQ worked in coordination to trace the accused, informed police.
In house search panchanama conducted at 4 flats including the office of the accused Suleiman in Karwar and Kerala, 24 mobiles, 3 cars, 3 bikes, 16 Bank Passbook and 30 Cheque books among other things were seized, informed police.
SP Gupta asserted that police are collecting all evidence to make a strong case against him to ensure that he is not released from jail.
